The Mystic NativityFestivals
This Christmas musical is inspired by Botticelli’s painting, 'The Mystic Nativity' - National Gallery, London. Colourful costumes and set replicate the scene, and a projected slide of this beautiful picture makes a quick and effective backdrop.
The script and a variety of songs and dances are connected with a sung narration which introduces seven Nativity scenes - 'The Annunciation', 'Journey to Bethlehem', 'Birth', 'Shepherds', 'Wise Men' and 'Celebration'. In each scene, colourful characters and choruses perform a variety of lively songs and dances as they visit baby Jesus Bethlehem.
This moving musical can be performed either as a choral work or a dramatic scripted production.
