This Christmas musical is inspired by Botticelli’s painting, 'The Mystic Nativity' in the National Gallery, London. Colourful costumes and set replicate the scene, and a projected slide of the painting makes an effective backdrop.
The script and a variety of songs and dances are linked by a sung narration which introduces seven Nativity scenes - 'The Annunciation', 'Journey to Bethlehem', 'Birth', 'Shepherds', 'Wise Men' and 'Celebration'. In each scene, colourful characters and choruses perform a variety of lively songs and dances as they visit baby Jesus Bethlehem.
This moving musical can be performed either as a choral work or a dramatic scripted production.Age Guide: 6 -14, KS1, KS2, KS3, Duration: 45 - 60 mins
