Commissioned by the World Wide Fund for Nature, this moving musical appeals to children's love of animals, giving an insight into the life of elephants, their ancient customs and the dangers they face.
Big Momma is leading her herd across the African plain to spend the day at a waterhole. When loud bangs are heard in the distance she anxiously hurries her family along. She knows that elephants have no natural enemies - except man! But later in the day poachers track down the herd and a baby elephant is separated from the rest. It is captured and taken by Jumbo Jet to a zoo where it grows up. But elephants never forget, and it misses and yearns for its family as it watches the crowds that come to stand and stare at it in amazement. Then one day rangers arrive. They have found Big Momma and her herd, and now they are taking the young elephant back home to be reunited with its family.
With nine moving songs with actions and a thought-provoking script, Big Momma will inspire children and adults alike.
