About Debbie Campbell
Spanning the National Curriculum, my twenty-one musicals cover topics from ancient history to urgent environmental issues of our time. I wrote and composed five of them in association with WWF, the World Wildlife Fund.
Performing in a musical is an exciting as well as an educational experience for children; my years as a class teacher and director of youth theatre groups like The Crouch End Crickets and Jackson’s Lane Theatre confirmed this again and again.
Children develop important learning and social skills through singing, dancing and drama. They have a love of humour as well as an instinct for the serious, and so I believe that they ought to experience a great diversity of musical styles, rhythms and melodies, with solo parts and choruses catering for casts of all sizes and abilities.
